The PGSQHA sanctions 3 AQHA-approved shows annually at the Tri-State Fairgrounds in Amarillo, Texas.  Each show offers a full slate of Halter, Western, English, Cattle and Performance Classes for all ages and levels of riders.

Everyone is invited to attend and participate at PGSQHA events.  PGSQHA officers and board members are always happy to chat with those interested in becoming members, exhibitors, looking for an AQHA Professional in the area, or just wanting to hang out.

PGSQHA History

The Panhandle Golden Spread Quarter Horse Association, formed in 1992 in the Amarillo area, was a merger the Golden Spread Quarter Horse Association and the Panhandle Quarter Horse Association.  Each organization brought with it a depth of experience and a history of notable figures, including Candy Joe Cody, Senor George, Poco Dell, and Phantom Chic.

We are also honored by the fact that Amarilllo, TX, is the homeplace of the American Quarter Horse Associationheadquarters and the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum.  With our area so richly steeped in the history of our breed, there is no better place to come sight-see, show horses, and enjoy fellow horseman.
